Antoine Dupont’s first try for Stade Toulousain against Sale Sharks last weekend has been voted Champions Try of the Round for Round 2 of the Heineken Champions Cup.

The France scrum-half’s 18th-minute effort in the TOP 14 club’s 45-19 victory at Stade Ernest Wallon in Pool B last Sunday received 50% of the public vote and was the first choice too of SuperSport pundit Joel Stransky.

The former South Africa fly-half said: “[It was a] real team effort, attacked from deep with forward dummy runners and the backs making perfect decisions and executing perfectly too.

“The timing of the passes meant it was almost impossible to defend against, and the support line of Dupont to get there is just incredible.”

Dupont’s try beat those of Leolin Zas (DHL Stormers), Hamza Kaabeche (Lyon), Sean Maitland (Saracens) and Morgan Morris (Ospreys).
