CA Brive have brought in veteran fly-half Nicholas Sanchez from Stade Français Paris ahead of their EPCR Challenge Cup campaign next month.

The Argentina international’s experience will be a welcomed boost for Brive as they travel to Cardiff Rugby in their Pool A opener on December 10.

Sanchez, who has played in three World Cups with Los Pumas and is their leading points-scorer, has made 26 appearances in EPCR competitions across spells with Union Bordeaux-Bègles, RC Toulon and then Stade Français.

The 24-year-old has tallied 150 points in EPCR tournaments, racking up 31 in six games in last season’s Heineken Champions Cup.

Brive head coach Arnaud Mela told the club’s official website: “I am very happy with the arrival of Nicolas at the club.

“It’s a real opportunity for us to have a player of his level and experience in this position. Beyond his impact on our game, he will also be a vector of transmission for our young players who will learn a lot from him.”
