Players from EPCR Challenge Cup sides Zebre Parma and Benetton Rugby helped Italy to a historic 28-27 victory over Australia in the Autumn Nations Series.
Pierre Bruno, who plays for Pool A side Zebre Parma, crossed for the first try of the game in the 18th minute, going over in the corner to give Italy an early 10-3 lead.
The Italians scored a further two tries through full-back Ange Capuozzo, with Pool B Benetton’s Edoardo Padovani also kicking a penalty to help the nation to their first ever win over Australia.

Meanwhile, Cardiff Rugby’s Taulupe Faletau and Tomos Williams were crucial to Wales’ 20-13 win over Argentina at the Principality Stadium.
The club-mates at the Pool A region scored Wales’ two tries, with Faletau crossing in the first half before Williams charged down an Argentina kick to go over in the second period. Benetton’s Tetaz Chaparro scored for Argentina with 12 minutes on the clock, but it proved too little too late.
In other matches, England defeated Japan 52-13 with Bristol Bears’ Ellis Genge scoring, Pool A province Connacht Rugby’s Mack Hansen crossed as Ireland overcame Fiji 35-17, and France defeated South Africa 30-27 in Marseille.
