Heineken Champions Cup contenders Munster Rugby have made five changes to the side that lost 29-24 to Bulls last weekend as Johann van Graan’s men head to Lions in the United Rugby Championship on Saturday.

John Hodnett, who featured in all four of Munster’s Pool B wins, returns to the Irish province’s starting XV, partnering 2022 EPCR Player of the Year nominee Jack O’Donoghue and Alex Kendellen in the back row.

Elsewhere in the forwards, John Ryan comes into the Munster front row alongside Josh Wycherley and Niall Scannell.

Meanwhile, Jack Crowley, who recorded 15 points in the Heineken Champions Cup pool stage, starts at fly-half, with Damian de Allende returning to form a midfield partnership with Chris Farrell. Shane Daly will line up on the wing in a back three with Mike Haley and Calvin Nash.

In the TOP 14, fellow Heineken Champions Cup side Stade Rochelais, who will face Union Bordeaux-Bègles in the last 16, head to Stade Félix Mayol to take on RC Toulon.

On Sunday, there is an all-Heineken Champions Cup clash in the TOP 14, as Stade Toulousain welcome Montpellier Hérault Rugby to Stade Ernest Wallon.
