Winger Santiago Cordero scored a second-half hat-trick as Union Bordeaux-Bègles triumphed 37-14 at fellow Heineken Champions Cup side Racing 92 in the TOP 14 on Sunday.

When Bordeaux host Leicester Tigers in Pool B on December 11, the Argentina international will be aiming to kickstart another prosperous Heineken Champions Cup campaign – he scored four tries in three games last season.

Racing went into the break 14-6 up after Teddy Thomas and Camille Chat went over, with Bordeaux’s only response two François Trinh-Duc penalties.

But the visitors would notch five tries in a remarkable second half showing, with UJ Seuteni dotting down either side of Cordero’s quickfire triple.

Elsewhere on Sunday, Ben Curry and Raffi Quirke crossed for Sale Sharks as they were beaten 25-14 at EPCR Challenge Cup outfit Saracens in the Gallagher Premiership.
