In order to do so, we have placed eight teams in a knockout competition, with voting set to open for the third quarter-final clash on Wednesday morning.

The first Fantasy Match-up pitted the triple European champions of RC Toulon between 2013 and 2015 against the mighty Leinster Rugby side from 2009-2012, with the Irish province coming out on top.

Leinster will be joined in the semi-final by Munster Rugby’s side from 2006-2008, who defeated fellow double European Cup winners in Leicester Tigers in 2001 and 2002.

The third clash will see Saracens from 2016-19 take on Toulouse’s famous team from 1996.

Maro Itoje

Itoje already has a glittering European rugby CV at the age of 26 that includes three European Cup titles and an EPCR European Player of the Year award, in 2016. To date, Itoje has made 37 appearances in the competition, scoring six tries, but it is his outstanding carrying and turnover abilities that make him such a dangerous player.

Owen Farrell

Four times in a row Farrell has finished as the Heineken Champions Cup’s leading points-scorer for the season, but strangely not in 2013, when he kicked this penalty against Racing 92 to set a match record of 10. EPCR Player of the Year in 2017, when he won the second of his three European titles, Farrell is the third highest points-scorer of all time with 794 from 69 games.

Alex Goode

While he hasn’t had the international recognition many believe he deserves, Goode has lit up the Heineken Champions Cup with a series of electrifying performances for Saracens. A mainstay in their three winning finals and a try scorer in the 2017 decider against ASM Clermont Auvergne, he also claimed the 2019 EPCR European Player of the Year after their final success against Leinster Rugby in Newcastle.

Billy Vunipola

Another triple Heineken Champions Cup winner, Billy Vunipola has proven himself as not only one of the elite back rows in the world, but also a big-game player who finds the whitewash when it matters. That was again proven during the English side’s successful 2018-19 campaign, when he scored important tries against Munster Rugby and Leinster Rugby in the semi-final and final respectively. His nine tries from 46 European appearances are also complemented by six Heineken Man of the Match awards.
