This week’s Heineken Champions Cup Rewind is set to be another cracker as we look forward to the quarter-finals in both the Heineken Champions Cup and Challenge Cup.
Going live on ChampionsCupRugby.com and across our Heineken Champions Cup and Challenge Cup social media pages on Wednesday at 18:00 (UK and Irish time), special guests such as Nigel Owens, Pat Lam and Simon Zebo discuss some of the quarter-final matches and some of the key clashes set to take place on the weekend of 18/19/20 September.
Ahead of Leinster Rugby’s last eight clash with Saracens, full-back Rob Kearney spoke about the Irish province’s 2019 final defeat as well as success in 2018, saying : “I think last season’s final against Saracens is something that still hurts a lot of our players and it hurts the club.
“In the quarter-final and semi-final in 2018, we probably played some of the best rugby we ever have done in the last number of years so we went to Bilbao with a lot of confidence.
“We knew that they [Racing 92] were a very strong team and they played a really good game that day. The game plan was excellent and we couldn’t play the same kind of rugby we had done in the quarter and semi-finals.”
