With Round 5 of the Heineken Champions Cup just a week away, Pool 3 leaders Saracens are edging ever closer to being at full strength for the final pool games of Europe’s elite club competition this month.
England No.8 Billy Vunipola and Wales utility back Liam Williams return from long-term injuries when the two-time winners head to Sale Sharks in the Gallagher Premiership on Friday night.
Vunipola has been absent since breaking his arm in Sarries’ 13-3 win at Glasgow Warriors in October, while Williams has been out with a hamstring problem.
Veteran scrum-half Richard Wigglesworth is also back after recovering from a groin strain, while prop Vincent Koch is another absentee to return at Sale.
Saracens, who top Pool 3 by four points from Glasgow after winning their first four games, will aim to continue their 100% record at Lyon on January 13 in a game televised live by BT Sport and beIN SPORTS.
