Brian Ashton has named his Bath Rugby side to face Leicester Tigers at the Walkers Stadium on Saturday…

Olly Barkley makes his long awaited return from a dislocated thumb injury to play in his first game since the match against Leinster in January and will be starting at inside centre.

But club captain Steve Borthwick is out with a knee injury and is replaced by James Hudson who gets a chance to impress alongside Danny Grewcock.

In the centre Alex Crockett, who has now been registered for Europe competition, starts alongside Barkley in the centre with Chris Malone retaining the number ten jersey. Andy Higgins and David Bory are on the wings with Michael Stephenson retaining his place at fullback.

Meanwhile in the forwards, Matt Stevens misses the match with a shoulder injury. Taufa’ao Filise comes in at loose head with Duncan Bell starting at tight head. In the back row Gareth Delve starts at open side with Michael Lipman dropped to the bench. Zak Feaunati is chosen at number eight and is named as captain in place of Borthwick.

Despite last week’s home defeat to Leicester, Ashton is excited about the quarter-final match. “You box this one off in a little compartment of its own, because it’s the Heineken Cup – its part of a great adventure. European rugby is fantastic and there should be more of it.  There is a real buzz about the club this week.”
